Fragrance Story
Sometimes I like to sing along wordlessly to music, and by wordlessly I mean a series of sounds reminiscent of the Muppet Show classic “Mahna Mahna.” I do this a lot with Stereolab, mostly in part because I haven’t kept up with my French. I’ve always loved Lætitia Sadier’s ability to move between French and English in her singing, and I very much appreciate the simplicity of the lyrics in “Changer.” As I walked through the park one morning, I sang along to this song (in my head) and conjured a story of raspberries and roses overlaying violets and blonde woods. fin.
